Chester Comix0.2.3 - Google Play

Explore American history in funny and colorful comix starring Chester the Crab. Since 1995, Chester has helped students understand the big stories and the key details of the American adventure. Now those stories can travel in the pockets of young readers on the go (and also reach their cool parents who care about what their kids are learning). Instead of piling a stack of books into the backseat of the minivan, kids can now read and laugh at Chester Comix on a smartphone or tablet.

This app gives you access to a library of adventures. Buying an adventure story for 99 cents allows you to:

* See stories from the Chester Comix archive that have not been in print since the early 2000s.

* See brand new, extra panels that give more depth to Chester stories that are available across 31 titles in printed book form.

* Bright calendar notes in the corner of some panels help the reader keep track of how the story is moving forward on the timeline.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bentley Boyd has researched, written and drawn Chester the Crab and his historical adventures for 20 years. He picked a Chesapeake Bay blue crab for a narrator because his stories appeared in the Daily Press newspaper in Virginia near the bay. In 1999, Chester was given the mission to help reluctant readers do better in school, especially the high elementary or middle school student who can read but chooses not to touch books. Chester's lessons have proven popular with students, teachers and dedicated parents across the United States.

Boyd's commitment to make American history fun and easy to access now means putting Chester's stories on a mobile platform. And he has taken this opportunity to revise and expand Chester's adventures. MORE jokes! MORE details that the textbooks miss! MORE links to the latest, coolest websites!
